Speaking Partner Experience # 5

I met with Isemenia today and we talked about transitions and variables in terms of math terminology. We then discussed the use of transitional words in lectures and guiding people through speech. We also used the transition words to discuss budgeting and keeping track of expenses. I then used the transitional words to explain an experience I have had with budgeting so that Ismenia could understand the proper use of the transitional words. Ismenia then had to pronounce different shapes and draw pictures of each shape from pictures in her textbook to show her understanding of them.

I admit that I myself had to look up what a couple of the shapes were because I didn't understand the BYU-Idaho terminology and I wasn't afraid to admit that to Ismenia. We then turned to -ed verbs and pronouncing them.  We also practiced pronouncing more words.
